The name comes from the Spanish word "salpicon," which means "a medley" or "hodgepodge." This flavorful and refreshing dish typically consists of diced or shredded meat, usually beef, mixed with various vegetables, herbs, and seasonings. It can be enjoyed on its own as a light and refreshing salad, or it can be used as a filling for tacos, tostadas, or even sandwiches. Here's my family version.
